As of June 3, 2025, COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise in India. A total of 4,026 active infections have been recorded. In the last 24 hours alone, 5 deaths were reported, bringing the total death toll to 37.
These deaths were reported from the states of Maharashtra (2), Kerala (1), Tamil Nadu (1), and West Bengal (1). Medical experts have urged the public to remain cautious and follow preventive measures. The surge is attributed to the emergence of new Omicron sub-variants, which are known to spread more rapidly. However, most affected individuals are exhibiting only mild symptoms, according to experts.
